CROCKETT (KRON) — An ambulance collided with a cement truck on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Crockett early Thursday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened around 1:50 a.m. near the Cummings Skyway onramp, according to CHP.

Three people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Both the driver and the passenger had to be extricated out the ambulance. The third person injured was in the back of the ambulance.

The victims were taken to John Muir Medical Center.

CHP had to close down a few lanes of I-80 while they cleared the scene. CHP said this caused another crash to occur right after. A driver was killed in the second accident.
