ANTIOCH (BCN) — A homeowner scared off three burglars early this morning when she woke up to find them in her Antioch home, police said.

Officers responded at 4:19 a.m. to the 2500 block of Desrys Boulevard near Turner Elementary School on a report of the burglars in the home.

The victim was sleeping when her dog started barking, according to police. She got up then screamed when she saw the suspects and they fled through a back door.

The trio jumped a fence onto the school’s property and officers did not find them despite a search with a K-9, police said.

The victim didn’t recognize the suspects, who entered the home through an unlocked rear door, according to police.

The victim was not injured and it does not appear the burglars stole anything.

The burglary is under investigation and anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department at (925) 778-2441.
