3 brothers arrested in massive Bay Area narcotics trafficking network

Three brothers have been arrested in a massive Bay Area narcotics trafficking network, Richmond police said on Friday.

Police seized $90,000 in illegal narcotics and $80,000 cash.


The three arrested in Richmond are Eduardo Chirinos Viera, 26, of Richmond, Julio Chirinos Viera, 33, from Richmond, and Jorge Chirinos Viera, 29, of Richmond.

In a three-month investigation, community members tipped police off about the three.

The operation took place in Contra Costa County and spread to San Francisco and Alameda County.

Eight total suspects from Oakland and Richmond were arrested in the operation.

The three brothers are considered the main suspects in the case.

They are being held on $1 million bail each.

During the search of their homes, detectives say they found cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine with a total street value of $90,000 and $80,000 in cash.
