Three people have been arrested in San Mateo after using a fake prescription for a large amount of codeine at a CVS on Tuesday, according to the San Mateo Police Department.
Around 3:40 p.m. officers were called to 4242 South El Camino Real about a woman who was waiting in the pharmacy after using the fake prescription. Before arriving, police had been given a detailed description of the woman.
Police made contact with the woman, identified as 20-year-old Aileen Su, in the parking lot as she was leaving.
Officials say Su was walking towards a gray 4-door Nissan that had two men waiting in the car. They have been identified as 20-year-old Jordon Rush and 21-year-old Eliot Rodriguez.
Authorities learned that Rush and Rodriguez were associated with Su and tried to detain them for questioning but what they did not know at the time was that the two men were in possession of a loaded handgun.
When officers ordered Rush and Rodriguez to show their hands, the two hesitated. This is when Rodiguez jumped out of the backseat and ran.
Rodriguez, who has multiple felony warrants for his arrest, led officers on a foot pursuit through the parking lot while witnesses were assisting officers in the direction he was running.
Officers set up a perimeter around Menlo Church at 4150 Piccadilly Lane and later found Rodriguez on the roof of the church.
Rodiguez was arrested without further incident and taken to San Mateo County Jail, along with Su and Rush.
Police searched the Nissan and found multiple fraudulent prescription forms, narcotics, and a loaded gun.
The three suspects have been charged with multiple charges, including carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, second-degree burglary, and forgery,
