A 3.1 magnitude earthquake has shaken Contra Costa County on Wednesday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake had a depth of 15.7 kilometers (9.76 miles) and was centered 3 kilometers (2.49 miles) northwest of Concord.
The earthquake hit at around 3:57 p.m.
