(BCN) — A 23-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to eight years in state prison for molesting three underage relatives, according to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office.

Tony Vasquez Guevara, a Salinas resident, was sentenced for one count of lewd acts on a child under 14 years old, one count of unlawful sexual intercourse and two counts of annoying or molesting a child, prosecutors said.

In April 2014, Guevara started a sexual relationship with a female relative who was 13 years old at the time, according to prosecutors.

The relationship continued until August, when the girl’s parents learned about it and informed authorities, prosecutors said.

Investigators learned Guevara also had inappropriate relations with two other female relatives who were underage, according to prosecutors.

Guevara also has one strike under the state’s three-strikes law and will have to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, according to prosecutors.
