SUISUN CITY (BCN) — Two stores violated licensing requirements and state law Friday during a police operation in Suisun City to ensure that local businesses are adhering to laws governing the sale of tobacco to minors, according to the Suisun City Police Department.
The operation targeted six businesses including Flyers Gas Station, Smokes 4 Less, Port of Call, 7-Eleven and two Chevron stations.
Four of them refused to sell tobacco to a minor, according to police. The Chevron at 1200 Anderson Dr. and Smokes for Less at 274 Sunset Ave. failed to adhere to the necessary identification procedures, and police cited them for violating their licensing requirements, police said.
The Suisun City Police Department conducts alcohol and tobacco stings at stores chosen either on a random basis or based on citizen complaints in an effort to prevent sales to minors.
