AUGUSTA, Kan. (AP) – Two people have been shot and wounded at a high school graduation ceremony in southern Kansas.
The Wichita Eagle reports that the Butler County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened around 2 p.m. Sunday at the Augusta High School ceremony. An ambulance took one victim to a Wichita hospital, while the second victim was transported in a private vehicle.
Augusta is about 20 miles east of Wichita.
No other information was immediately available. The sheriff’s office directed The Associated Press to the Augusta Police Department, which was planning a briefing later Sunday.
