PITTSBURG (KRON) — Two of four suspects have been arrested Wednesday in the May Highway 4 fatal double shooting in Pittsburgh that left a woman dead, according to Pittsburg police.
Two others are still outstanding in connection with the deadly highway shooting.
Pittsburgh police are still looking for Damario Pitteard and Corey McCroey.
They are wanted in connection with a May 11 shooting that killed mother of four Shaniqua Marie.
Marcus Gaines and Kevin Carter have been arrested. They were arrested as they were leaving a home on the 1900 block of Johnson Drive.
Investigators say they are part of the group that followed the mom onto Highway 4 and carried out the shooting.
“A third suspect was believed to be inside and the residence was searched by PPD SWAT per a search warrant. The suspect was not located and at this time two of the four suspects are in custody for murder charges for their involvement in this incident,” police said in a press release.
Police say the shooting was gang-related.
“The shooting was as a result of an ongoing gang related dispute with subjects from the San Francisco area. Over the past 7 months investigators have conducted an extensive investigation and contacted individuals that were less than cooperative at times. Their hard work, determination and diligent efforts led to identifying four suspects in this case all of whom have gang associations in San Francisco area,” police said.
Police determined the victims were followed by four suspects and shot on Highway 4 within the city limits of Pittsburg.
A man, who was also in the car with Marie, was shot in the left hand. He was taken to the hospital and released, police said.
The two men under arrest are facing murder charges.
The two men police are looking for have murder warrants for their arrests.
