2 Fort Campbell, Kentucky soldiers in custody in disappearance of fellow soldier

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (WKRN) – Two Fort Campbell soldiers are being held as persons of interest in the disappearance of a fellow soldier, according to officials.

In a statement released Tuesday, the U.S. Army post says, “Two Soldiers are currently being held as persons of interest in the disappearance of PFC Shadow McClaine. Fort Campbell law enforcement continue to investigate the matter. No further details are available at this time.”

While the names of those soldiers were not immediately released, News 2 learned McClain’s ex-husband Jamal McCray, also a soldier, was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County jail earlier this month on Oct. 6.

His exact charges have not been released, and it’s unclear if his arrest is in connection to the disappearance case.

McClaine vanished on Sept. 2 and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Her car was later found in a downtown Nashville parking lot.

News 2 also learned she disappeared three weeks before she was set to go trial on charges of stalking her ex-husband.

McClaine has brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) at 270-798-9406 or Fort Campbell Military Police at 270-798-0416.
