CONCORD (KRON)—Two dead birds and two groups of mosquitoes have been found with the West Nile Virus, according to the Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District.

One dead bird was found in Blackhawk and the other was found in Oakley.

The groups of mosquitoes were found near Knightsen and in Byron.

Health officials recommend Contra Costa County residents to use repellents and avoid areas where there are mosquitoes.

The county is fogging for adult mosquitoes on Friday morning.

Fifty-five people have contracted the West Nile Virus in Contra Costa County since 2005.
