MONTEREY COUNTY (BCN) — Two men allegedly found with drugs, stolen checks, counterfeit money and burglary tools were arrested during a traffic stop in Prunedale this morning, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies stopped a car for a vehicle code violation in the area of U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 156, sheriff’s officials said.

While the deputies contacted the two people in the car they found 10 stolen checks, $400 in counterfeit money and burglary tools, according to sheriff’s officials.

They also found various suspected narcotics including 2.7 grams of heroin, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine and 4.3 grams of marijuana, sheriff’s officials said.

One of the men, 27-year-old Justin Thompson, was found with a $75,000 warrant for allegedly stealing a car, possessing burglary tools and possessing stolen property, sheriff’s officials said.

Thompson and the other man, 34-year-old Norman Bolcao, were arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail, sheriff’s officials said.
