SANTA ROSA (BCN) — Santa Rosa police arrested two people after a road rage incident Wednesday afternoon.
A female driver cut off a vehicle by accident in the area of Stony Point and Sebastopol roads in west Santa Rosa around 4:45 p.m., police Sgt. Tommy Isachsen said.
The driver fled in her vehicle and called police after a male got out of the other vehicle and threatened her with a firearm, Isachsen said.
The vehicle then followed the female driver onto Todd Road and pulled alongside her car. When the woman slammed on her brakes, the other vehicle pulled in front of her and stopped in the middle of the road, where the male passenger again got out of the car and brandished a gun, Isachsen said.
When police stopped the suspect’s vehicle in the 500 block of Todd Road, they found a loaded gun and marijuana packaged for sale, according to Isachsen.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, Carley Renee Tolonen, 18, of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed firearm and conspiracy.
Her passenger, Geraldo Covarruvio Mendoza, 32, of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of gun and marijuana possession, conspiracy, criminal threats and brandishing a firearm charges, police said.
Mendoza has a lengthy criminal history and a conviction for being an active gang participant, Isachsen said.
