(KRON) The Clayton fire in Lower Lake destroyed a 170 year old church that had been serving the community since the 1800’s.
KRON4’s Ella Sogomonian was there when the pastor of the United Methodist Church came back to see the devastation at Lake and Second streets.
Pastor John Pavioni says the 70 member congregation is in shock over the loss.
Pavioni tells KRON4 News “I can see my desk over there all crumpled but other than that you can’t recognize anything and I locked the doors on Sunday and now it is gone .”
