SALINAS (KRON)—A teenage boy was fatally shot outside his Salinas home Wednesday afternoon, police said.

This is the third homicide in four days in the city.

Police have not released the identity of the victim until family members are notified.

The shooting was reported around 12:50 p.m. on the 1100 block of C Street. Officers found the 17-year-old with gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead there, police said.

Officers conducted a preliminary investigation where they found that the boy was talking with a friend outside his house when two men came up to them.

The men took out guns and started firing them at the teenage boy and his friend, according to police.

The suspects left the scene heading toward Josephine Street and might have left in a silver or white car.

Police describe the men as Hispanic and in their early 20s.

If you have any information about the case, you are asked to call the Salinas Police Department.
