It was described at the time as a brutal murder by neighbors.

A 17-year-old suspect is behind bars in a juvenile facility, suspected of killing a mother of four in Richmond.

They are saying that after weeks of intensive work, they have placed the teen behind bars in connection to this gruesome murder.

Those close with this victim are sounding off on Wednesday night.

“I want him tried as an adult, and I want him to get the death penalty,” the victim’s ex-fiance Jack Bryson said.

Bryson is referring to the 17-year-old arrested by Richmond police in connection with the murder of his Kishana Harley.

“I would love to see him tried as an adult, and I would love to see him get the death penalty,” Bryson said. “You don’t kill nobody like that. You don’t stab them repeatedly and then set them on fire.”

Kishana, who went by Harley, was a mother of four.

Harley’s body was recovered inside her apartment back in July. Family and friends aren’t sure who this 17-year-old suspect is.

Since he is under the age of 18, his name and picture won’t be released unless he’s charged as an adult.

Harley was a known activist who often questioned the police.

Her friends believe if she was still here, she would have been proud of the investigators’ hard work.

“They did a good job this time around, and I’m sure she would have been happy this time around if she wasn’t the victim,” Bryson said.

Bryson says times have been tough without Harley, not only for him but for her kids as well.

“I was talking to the daughter the other night, and I said, ‘Man, I’m a 14-year-old kid without a mother–14 Years old without a mother by a kid who was three years older than her,” Bryson said.

KRON4 asked police if this suspect will be charged as an adult.

They say it is unclear at this point and that will be a decision left up to the D.A.’s office.

We should have the answer to that question and possibly more details as to what happened in the next few days.
