FAIRFIELD (KRON) — A 16-year-old boy died in a collision Sunday afternoon along a road in Fairfield, according to police.
The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Waterman Boulevard near Barbour drive, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found one driver who had been killed.
The other driver was transported to the hospital, according to police.
After an investigation, police determined that the 16-year-old driver was traveling east at a high rate of speed on Waterman Boulevard.
According to witnesses, the teen appeared to have lost control of the vehicle and swerved into oncoming traffic.
The teen’s vehicle struck a pickup truck that was traveling west on Waterman Boulevard.
The 16-year-old Fairfield resident was killed on impact, according to police. His identity has not yet been released.
The 44-year-old driver of the pick-up truck walked away relatively unscathed.
