Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown can’t seem to get away from politics; on Tuesday, he hosted his annual free Election Day lunch at John’s Grill.

And the guest of honor was the oldest voter in the city.

Bay Area politicians were rubbing elbows on Election Day as voters across the Bay Area cast their ballots.

“When I issue the word, come to Election Day party, and this many people show up, it’s an honor,” Brown said.

London Breed, who currently serves as president of the city’s board of supervisors, was one of a few candidates to join the party.

“I think it is time for someone who is bold, someone who is fearless, someone who’s willing to make the hard decisions to get our city back on track,” Breed said.

Angela Alioto is also running for mayor and has served as president of the board of supervisors in the past.

Alioto says homelessness and housing are the city’s most pressing issues.

“We’ll get through it,” Alioto said. “If I win, I win. If I don’t win, I’ve got a great life, but I hope I win. I feel like I’m going to win.”

One-hundred-and-eleven-year-old Lucy Mirigan was the guest of honor.

She’s the oldest voter in San Francisco.

“Everybody go out to vote,” Mirigan said.

Sound advice from a woman who has exercised her right to vote in every election going back decades.
