SAN JOSE (BCN) — A 100-acre brush fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon south of San Jose was fully contained Thursday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.
The Bailey Fire started around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in an area east of U.S. Highway 101 and Bailey Avenue, Cal Fire officials said.
The blaze burned about 75 acres by the evening and extended to a total of 100 acres, according to Cal Fire.
At its peak, there were 150 firefighters battling the blaze through the night and Thursday, Cal Fire Assistant Chief Michael Borelli said.
The blaze was under control at about 3 p.m. Thursday, according to Borelli.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged in the fire, Borelli said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
