CASTRO VALLEY (KRON) — A winning $1 million scratchers ticket was sold in Castro Valley, according to California Lottery spokeswoman Melissa Villarin.
The man said he plans on spending the money, Villarin said. The ticket was a California Lottery Deluxe 7’s Playbook Scratchers.
Steven Gil bought the winning ticket at the Union 76 gas station at 2445 Castro Valley Blvd.
The store that sold him the ticket will receive $5,000, according to lottery officials.
Gil shared his news right away.
“I called my dad and said, ‘Hey guess what? I just won a million dollars,'” Gil said in a statement.
His father didn’t believe him until his father double-checked the six pages of the game, lottery officials said.
Gil said he wants to buy a house, a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and send his son to the college of his choice.
Gil said he plays the game regularly and usually wins another ticket or wins some money.
