Tonight, it’s a social studies teacher at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley.
Laura Garrett says she loves teaching history, and her academy support classes for at-risk students.
She’s described as kind and patient, and always motivating her students with lots of positive encouragement and support.
Laura likes to engage her history students by making connections between current events and history.
She’s also an advisor to lots of student clubs and serves as a mentor to new teacher.
She’s been recognized in Marin County with the Golden Bell Teaching Award this year.
