Sara Stinson

Sara Stinson joined KRON 4 News in April of 2018 as a video journalist.

You can see her live reports from the field on our morning show from 5am to 10 am.

Sara grew up in Marin County and graduated from Redwood High School in 2010.

However, her family roots run deep in Kauai, HI soil as her family has been on the island since the late 1800’s.

Sara attended California State University, Northridge in Los Angeles where she obtained a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and minor in Communications. Go Matadors!

Sara got her first reporting job in Helena, Montana. There she learned the ropes telling stories from the Capitol during the legislative session. She was also a fill-in anchor.

Her favorite story was about Kennedy Walsh, a girl with down syndrome advocating for girls like herself in the modeling industry. Her story went viral and she’s now a role model to girls around the country.

While Sara learned a lot about the outdoors and the people of Montana she was excited to land a job back in California.

She got her next reporting job at Action News Now in Chico where she stayed for about two years covering many breaking news stories including the Rancho Tehama School Shooting and the Oroville Dam Spillway Crisis.

She will never forget when she was doing a report on small airport culture and got to fly a single engine plane with a local pilot!

Sara loves being a storyteller because she gets to learn something new everyday and share it with others.

When Sara is not reporting she is walking her dog, working out or hanging out with loved ones.

She is a major fan of the Giants, 49ers and Warriors!

She is honored and excited to be able to bring everyone in the Bay Area the latest news every morning on KRON4.

If you ever see her or have a story idea don’t hesitate to reach out! You can keep up with her on social media too.
