A 2-year-old boy has died after drowning in a swimming pool in Antioch, according to the police department.
The Antioch police received a call around 7:30 p.m. on Friday about the incident that occurred in the 3000 block of North Francisco Way.
First responders quickly arrived where they immediately began life-saving procedures.
Authorities say the boy was taken to a hospital where he later passed away.
Investigators say it appears to be a tragic accident.
