GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) – A car has smashed into a Los Angeles-area bus stop, slightly injuring five people, including a 5-year-old girl.

Glendale police Sgt. Robert William tells City News Service that the driver was trying to back out of a parking spot at about 5 p.m. Friday but instead the car went forward, ran over a sidewalk and hit the bus stop.

William says the 5-year-old girl had a leg injury and four adults had minor injuries.

All were taken to a hospital for treatment but their injuries aren’t considered life-threatening.

Williams says there’s no evidence that alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident and the driver wasn’t immediately cited.
