DIXON (KRON) — A teenage boy was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a teen in Dixon on Friday, according to police.
The shooting happened at Northwest Park off West H Street, according to Dixon Police Chief Jon Cox.
The 17-year-old victim, whose name hasn’t been released was taken by emergency crews to Kaiser Permanente’s Vacaville Medical Center, where he died, Cox said.
At about 3 p.m. Saturday, a 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting. The suspect’s name is not being released because he is a juvenile, police said.
Police are investigating the homicide and trying to determine whether or not it was gang related. This is the first homicide in Dixon since 2008, police say.
