SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – A man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting and critically injuring a train passenger in San Francisco’s Bayview District.

Police Officer Grace Gatpandan said the 18-year-old man was arrested near a city park on Wednesday. A handgun was recovered from the scene of the arrest.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was shot in the upper torso while riding on the MUNI T-Third line on Monday afternoon. Police said he remained hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Police declined to identify the suspect until he is booked into jail.
