UNION CITY (KRON) — Union City Police are seeking the public’s help in a shooting that claimed the life of a 43-year-old man.

Officers said they received a call about a possible shooting victim at Alvarado Niles Road near Osprey Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night. That’s where they found the victim lying on the sidewalk, suffering from a life threatening gunshot wound, according to police.

Emergency crews brought the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said evidence suggests the shooting occurred a short distance away on Skylark Drive near Grackle Court.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending confirmation by the Alameda County Coroner’s office and the notification of the next of kin.
