OAKLAND (KRON) — Three people were arrested Wednesday afternoon, accused of taking part in a home invasion and car chase that spanned three East Bay cities.
Around 3:12 p.m., a home invasion robbery was reported on Sweetbriar Place in Castro Valley, according to Alameda County Sheriff’s Sgt. JD Nelson.
A deputy then spotted a vehicle matching the description of one used in the robbery. He started to follow the car around the area of 150th Avenue and the Interstate Highway 580 in San Leandro.
The suspect vehicle crashed in the area of Keller Avenue and Interstate Highway 580, and officers were able to arrest three out of the four suspects in the car and recover one firearm. The fourth suspect remains at large, and the sheriff’s office is searching the area now.
The suspects were not injured in the crash, Nelson said. Details of the home invasion robbery were not yet available.
