SAN MATEO (KRON) — Coroner’s officials have released the name of a motorcyclist killed in a crash in San Mateo on Sunday.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office says 45-year-old John Stark of Belmont was killed in the crash that happened shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday on northbound Highway 101.
Stark was on a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle when he was struck by a 2006 Honda, according to the California Highway Patrol. Investigators say the motorcyclist lost control and was ejected onto the East Hillsdale Boulevard off-ramp.
Stark suffered major injuries and was taken to Stanford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say neither drugs or alcohol appeared to be a factor in the collision.
