SAN JOSE (KRON) — Police are investigating a traffic collision this afternoon that resulted in a male bicyclist suffering serious injuries near a busy San Jose intersection.
At 12:50 p.m., officers responded to the report of a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at the intersection of Monterey Road and Curtner Avenue, according to police.
An ambulance took the bicyclist to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
As a result of the accident, some bus lines will be rerouted, according to the Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority. Lines 26, 66, and 68 are being rerouted near Tully and Monterey.
The intersection will be closed in all directions and traffic will be diverted until about 4:30 p.m., according to police.
