PLAINVILLE, MASS. (KRON/CNN) — Three people died after a small plane crashed into a home in Massachusetts Sunday.

State police say the victims on board the plane include a pilot and two passengers.

Fire spread throughout the house, but the residents of the home were able to escape in time.

The plane was headed to Norwood, Massachusetts from Pennsylvania’s Lancaster Airport.

Reports of engine problems came in just minutes before the crash.

The pilot told air traffic controllers that he was experiencing strong vibrations and that he had lost the engine.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
