SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – A Sutter woman has been accused of running over her husband while he was inside a tent, killing the man.
The Sacramento Bee reports that the California Highway Patrol arrested 29-year-old Kristin Ward Tuesday following an investigation of 36-year-old Robert Ward’s death on June 25.
According to a CHP news release, Kristin Ward had been driving a 2004 Mustang when she lunged forward over the tent. Her husband, who was inside the tent, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation revealed the circumstances leading up to the event. CHP officials say interviews with family and friends, search warrants and a secondary interview with Kristin Ward helped determine that the event was not an accident.
Kristin Ward is being held without bail in Sutter County jail.
