PACHECO (BCN) — A man suspected of stabbing a 7-Eleven clerk in Pacheco last week was arrested on Saturday, a Contra Costa County sheriff’s spokesman said Monday.

Authorities arrested 37-year-old Aaron Goode on suspicion of stabbing the clerk multiple times after the clerk told him to leave the store, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

The sheriff’s office responded at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday to reports of the stabbing at the store, located at 5844 Pacheco Blvd., according to the sheriff’s office.

Medical crews found the clerk suffering from multiple stab wounds and transported him to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, sheriff’s officials said.

As of Friday, Lee said the clerk was expected to be released from the hospital either that day or shortly thereafter.

Deputies on Thursday identified Goode as the suspect but couldn’t find him after a search of the area. He was taken into custody on Saturday, Lee said.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is encouraged to contact sheriff’s investigators at (925) 313-2600.
