NEW YORK (KRON)– A total of thirteen people are in the hospital after a shooting took place during a backyard party in New York.

Police say nine people have gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting that broke out in Brooklyn. The other four people have bruises and cuts due to melee.

According to Sergeant Daniel Doody from the New York Police Department, the shooting occurred at 2:15 a.m in East New York as a result of an argument.

A witness, Faylo Alston, said he was on his way to a store when he heard over five shots fired  and saw people from the party lying down on the ground.

The gunman has not been arrested and no other information has been release.
