SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A study from the website Netmums found that one in 25 mothers admitted to breastfeeding another woman’s child, according to Dailymail.com.
The issue came to light after a Pennsylvania mother was shown in a picture breastfeeding her son and his friend together. Jessica Anne Colletti was seen on Facebook breastfeeding her 16-month-old son and her friend’s 18-month-old-boy.
Netmums polled 2,012 mothers, and the site found friends’ babies are the most-commonly breastfed (other than their own). A relative’s child was the next most-common.
Eight percent admitted to feeding a stranger’s baby, the poll said.
The research also showed most mothers did not like the idea of another woman breastfeeding their baby, even though it’s a growing trend.TAKE OUR WEB POLL!
