SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The KRON morning news was live Monday morning as the Bay Area was jolted awake by a magnitude 4.0 earthquake that struck in the East Bay. The United States Geological Survey downgraded the intensity of the temblor from a magnitude 4.2.

As well, people have been sharing their earthquake stories.

Michele Green sent in a photo showing damage at her home. She wrote, “My beloved antique mirror and the first purchased when I was 21 years old. I have owned it 30 years and now it is gone! It survived the 1989 earthquake in San Francisco with me. It is very sad.”
