ST. PAUL, Minn. (KRON/AP) – An 8-year-old boy drove his foster family’s car with two younger children inside, traveling almost 20 miles and leading police on a slow speed chase.

The Minnesota State Patrol just released dash-cam video of the April 28 incident.

In the video, the boy is seen eventually turning the car into a driveway. The trooper pulls up behind him, and the boy puts the car in reverse, hitting the patrol car, before finally parking.

The trooper looks inside the vehicle and a pajama wearing boy eventually gets out of the car.

He emerges with his backpack and a bag with his belongings, followed by two younger children.

State Patrol officials said troopers were notified about the pint-sized driver after receiving reports about a car swerving on Interstate 35E. One caller was able to pull up alongside the vehicle and reported that it was a child behind the wheel.

No one was injured in the incident.

Officials say the two younger children, ages 3 and 5, are siblings and all three were in foster care in a St. Paul home. It’s unclear whether the children are still in the home.
