NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A babysitter is behind bars after police say a home security system captured her abusing a 13-month-old boy.
Police said during a three hour time frame on July 31, Briana Campbell was recorded on a home security camera throwing the boy on a couch, smothering him with pillows, carrying him upside down by the ankles and repeatedly striking him in the head and body.
The child was examined by a pediatrician. He did not sustain any serious physical injuries.
Campbell is charged with nine counts of attempted aggravated child abuse and two counts of aggravated child neglect.
She is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in identifying other possible victims that Campbell may have babysat in the past.
