SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A San Francisco resident found human bones while gardening in November, San Francisco police confirmed Wednesday.

Police said a resident, who lives on the 1300 block of McAllister Street, turned in what was believed to be bones to the Northern Police Station on Nov. 23. A police report was then filed, according to police.

The Medical Examiner’s office then determined that the bones were human remains.

Marin County sheriff cadaver dogs searched the area where the bones were found and indicated there may be more human remains, police said.

After an excavation by authorities, no additional remains were found, police said.

The investigation is on-going.
