SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The rain may be finally slowing down, but across the Bay Area, California Highway Patrol officers received around 480 reports of collisions from midnight until noon Tuesday.
Many of them were weather related, according to the CHP. The number represents a large increase in the normal call volume.
The CHP wants drivers to slow down in the rain. They are advising people to give some extra time to get to their destinations, so they do not feel the need to drive fast.
The CHP said even 65 miles per hour on the freeway in heavy rain is too fast.
