SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The battle between Apple and the FBI is heating up over efforts to hack the iPhone connected to the San Bernardino shooter.

Apple says the feds blundered and could have gained access to the San Bernardino terrorist’s iPhone themselves but missed their chance.

Tech Trends reporter Gabe Slate has the latest on this saga.

Apple has resisted the push, citing privacy concerns.

Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook acknowledged to employees Monday that “it does not feel right” to refuse to help the FBI hack a locked iPhone used by a gunman in the San Bernardino mass shootings. But he said that to do so would threaten data security for millions and “everyone’s civil liberties.”
