(CNN) — Twitter’s live video streaming application Periscope has reached an impressive milestone.
Some 200 million broadcasts have been streamed so far, according to the company. The company said that is up from 100 million broadcasts in January.
Periscope popped up after last year’s South by Southwest conference. Within five weeks of launching, Bernie Sanders used Periscope to announce he was running for president.
By the end of 2015, Apple crowned Periscope “app of the year.”
The app is available for Apple and Android devices.
