ALAMEDA COUNTY (KRON) — Two small wildfires are burning near Los Vaqueros Reservoir on Friday evening, according to multiple East Bay fire agencies.

They are responding to the reservoir, which is located at the county line dividing Alameda and Contra Costa counties, a battalion chief said.

The incident was reported at 6:24 p.m. on Vasco Road, near the Los Vaqueros Reservoir and Watershed, according to Alameda County Fire Department Batallion Chief Stephanie Radecke.

The two fires were estimated at roughly six acres in total around 7:15 p.m., Radecke said, and they are burning in very steep terrain.

Traffic on Vasco Road has also been impacted.

Personnel from Cal Fire, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department are also on scene.Bay City News contributed to this report
