AMERICAN CANYON, Calif. (KRON) – A couple has been arrested after allegedly fighting and a BB gun was reported an American Canyon Walmart, according to police.

The incident happened on Monday, September 7th around 1:00 pm. American Canyon police responded to reports of a “large fight” and “shots fired” at Walmart and responded within minutes.

Shoppers running out of the store pointed police to suspects 44-year-old Cornelius Reynolds and his wife, 32-year-old Chandra Vincent.

“There was a fistfight going on with two men, one with a mask and one who didn’t have a mask on. I just went about my business and was getting my groceries. Then all of a sudden, there was this stampede of employees that was yelling and moving toward me and telling everyone to evacuate the store,” said Susan, a woman who was evacuated from the store.

Lucy Correa had just pulled up to the store with her baby to shop when she noticed people running out of the store and cops with rifles were running inside.

“I noticed people were running out of the store from the other exit, and they were just screaming. Little kids were crying,” said Correa.

“It’s crazy how it’s gotten to this point where you can’t even go to a regular store at 1 o’clock in the afternoon and not have to worry about being in the middle of a shooting,” Correa added.

Officers found a black BB gun that resembled a firearm in the trash next to the Reynolds car.

More officers arrived, including the Napa Police Department, at the scene and safely detained both Reynolds and Vincent. Police say Vincent was obstructing officers.

Walmart is now open again and no injuries have been reported.
