WALNUT CREEK (KRON) — Police in Walnut Creek responded to reports of shots fired early Saturday around 1:28 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, they saw a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The incident occurred on Locust Street at Cypress Street.
Police has identified the victim as 38-year-old Courtney Brown.
Officers say Brown was at the Crogan’s Sports Bar and Grill before the shooting.
He was sent to John Muir Medical Center and died from his injuries.
Brown leaves behind his daughter and fiancé.
Witnesses near the scene say they saw an African-American male suspect running from the scene following the shooting.
They also describe the suspect as being 6 feet tall and 160 pounds.
