FREMONT (BCN) — Police are investigating a burglary and arson incident that occurred Thursday at a Fremont Target store.
Officers with the Fremont Police Department responded to the Target at Pacific Commons after receiving a report regarding a clothes rack that was on fire, according to police.
Police said two suspects, a man and a woman, entered the store and committed a theft before starting the fire.
The woman shoplifted several items and placed the stolen merchandise inside a suitcase also taken from the store, while the man acted as a lookout police said.
The pair then set a rack of clothes on fire, according to police.
As employees and customers checked on the fire, the suspects fled the store, police said.
A description of the suspects was not immediately available.
