RIO VISTA (KRON)—A man who was riding in an ATV was hit by a semi-truck Saturday morning after not stopping at a stop sign and leading Rio Vista police officers on a pursuit, according to police.

Officers spotted a Honda ATV driving recklessly around 3:35 a.m. near state Highway 12 and Virginia Drive, police said.

When police tried stopping the ATV, the vehicle kept driving and went into the westbound lane of Highway 12.

The driver was hit by a semi-truck after he didn’t stop at a stop sign on Virginia Drive, according to police.

The ATV driver has been identified as 32-year-old of Jonathan McCluskey of Isleton.

McCluskey was taken to the hospital with major injuries, but they are not considered life-threatening, police said.

He will be arrested for felony evading police and possession of burglary tools once he is released from the hospital.
