OAKLAND (WKBN/KRON) — An Oakland resident from Ohio has just been identified as one of the 36 killed in the deadly Oakland fire.
Billy Dixon was a 2000 graduate of Chagrin Falls high school in Ohio. He was one of the people inside the deadly warehouse fire in Oakland.
The City of Oakland identified Dixon as a victim of the fire late Tuesday night.
36 people died in the fire over the weekend.

Sources close to Dixon’s family had released this statement:
Everybody thinks the world of Billy Dixon. His friends and family all know him as a truly great person, an immensely talented musician, extremely intelligent, always quick with a joke and great with conversation, and a kind and compassionate soul. He always has a huge smile and a hug for everyone no matter how long he has known them and has an amazing gift of making people feel appreciated. Those seem like generic compliments but it’s all very very true about Billy. Everyone around him loves him and is proud to know him, and he is blessed to have many, many people who call him a friend.”
The news comes as more victims from the deadly fire have been identified.
Dixon’s former brother-in-law, Robert St. Price, told DailyMail.com he had lost him in the blaze.
‘I lost a good friend over the weekend to the tragic Oakland fire,’ Price wrote. ‘Billy Dixon was not just a brother-in-law to me, he was a great friend and an artistic guide. He was there during my High School years and helped me pick out my college.
Dixon was a well-known beat boxer and respected DJ, DailyMail.com said.
Just before 10 p.m., the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau released the names of 9 more fire victims who have been positively identified.
The announcement was the latest about victims of the blaze that killed at least 36 people.
The fire erupted during a dance party late Friday night. It’s unclear how it started.
