ALAMEDA COUNTY (KRON) — A train has hit a vehicle in the East Bay on Friday night, according to Capitol Corridor.
Train 545 was delayed 1 hour and 10 minutes between Richmond and Berkeley as a result of the collision, officials said. As of 8:06 p.m., there are residual 30-plus minute delays.
The collision happened at around 6:40 p.m. and was non-fatal, Capitol Corridor said. It happened west of Richmond at Cutting Boulevard and Carlson Boulevard.
The woman driver was not hurt, and she was the only person inside the car that was hit, Richmond police Lt. Felix Tan said.
There were no injuries to riders or crew.
This is the third time a train hit a car or pedestrian in the Bay Area within the last 24 hours.
