Three people are in custody Sunday night after a huge sideshow in Oakland got out of hand.

Police say a group of about 60 to 70 people on various types of bikes started in the Fruitvale area earlier Sunday afternoon.

Police say two people pointed a gun at a gas station clerk there, while about ten of the bunch stole some soda cans.

The group then continued to ride through town in north Oakland — around the area of Claremont and Telegraph.

Some of them had helmets on, others had masks on, and some weren’t wearing anything at all on their heads.

By the time they got here, police say dispatch had gotten several calls from people basically saying “We don’t know what this group is doing but they are driving recklessly and we are scared someone is going to get hurt.”

Once the bikers landed here, they continued the show.

Witnesses here say the bikers were aggressively circling police and at some point even repeatedly kicked patrol cars.

Police tell us there were about four police vehicles at that time, so officers called for back up.

Shortly after that, three people were arrested — one of them for reckless driving, the other two for stealing some sort of bikes.

The bikes were confiscated.

Witnesses say they saw the crew ride toward Berkeley but it’s unclear where they landed.
